The nose shows sour cherry, blackberry, earthy and forest floor aromas with a subtle hint of cedary oak. The wine shows flavours consistent with the nose but also showing cherry and spice flavours derived from the Merlot component of the wine. The wine is round, full and soft - as is expected of a blend of these two classic grape varieties.

Purple in colour, this is a well-balanced wine showing berry fruit and blackcurrant jam characters. The nose has appealing ripe berry aromas as well as spice and chocolate. The palate shows flavours of blackcurrant and cassis as well as cedar wood with juicy length and a smooth succulent mouth feel.

The wine exhibits mid straw colour with a green edge. The nose is dominated by fresh citrus blossom, melon and fresh apricot aromas with a complex but subtle bready note from yeast less aging. The palate overflows with ripe fruit characters of melon, citrus and ripe stone fruit. Complex yeasty notes and an elegant, full palate complement the zesty acid finish.

Aromas of ripe plums, dark cherries and fruit cake are enhanced with the use French and American oak that impart vanillin sweetness and savoury complexity. On the palate, the flavours range from plums and rich forest berries to secondary notes of anise and cedar together with a sweet oak lift.

The nose offers a complex bouquet of mulberries and plums, as well as notes of clove and liquorice – all of which are underscored by the most delicate hint of toasty oak. The palate is ripe, rounded and soft with velvety tannins and sweet mulberry juiciness. This is a rich, full weighted wine with a well-rounded tannic structure that is smooth and generous.
