Trophy for Organic Cabernet

The award-winning Salena Estate 2006 Organic Cabernet Sauvignon has furthered its show record by winning the Trophy for Best Organic Wine at the Australian Inland Wine Show in October. 

This latest award adds to the three silver and three bronze medals it has already received, and confirms the company’s belief that its organic wines are as good as any on the market.

The news is especially good for the growing number of consumers interested in organically certified products. The Trophy win is a further endorsement of the wine’s high quality.

At the same show Salena Estate’s 2006 Organic Shiraz won silver and the 2007 Rosé bronze, with the 2007 Chardonnay missing out on award by just half a point.

Collectively the Salena Estate range of four Organic wines has amassed a Trophy, 2 gold, 7 silver and 14 bronze and other awards.

 A Vintage Year on the Show Circuit

As the 2007 year draws to a close our winemakers look back at year and see how their wines have done on the show circuit. In all it’s been a fairly successful year for Salena Estate.

Of particular note is that wines in every price category were awarded medals at shows around the world.  From the most in-expensive to the premium Bookpurnong Hill red blend, wines across the entire Salena portfolio found favour with the judges.

These latest awards bring our show tally to 3 trophies, 30 gold medals and over 350 silver, bronze and other awards gathered from competitions around the globe. All this in just nine vintages.

Are we fixated about medals? We don’t like to think so. But a lot of consumers do measure a wine by them.

By any measure then, we are right up there.
